First of all, let me tell you that there are 2 Search Consoles from google which means they modified the older one to a new one.

Today you can’t use the old version but all the features are added to the new one with some other advanced features.

So without any ado let’s dive into the article.

To add a new user, simply follow these steps, and you will be able to do so without risk.

Step1: Go to your Google search console account.

Step2: Click on settings.

Step3: Open the Users and Permission section in your selected account.

Step4: Click on “Add User”.

Step5: Enter the mail address you want to give access to use your account.

Congratulations! You have successfully added a new user to your GSC.

Let us now simplify things for you by elaborating on these steps in greater depth. You can also watch your step-by-step video tutorial down below.

Step1: Go to your Google Search Console Account.

This step is for those who are new to the search console. You can go to google and type “google search console” and easily log in to the account mail you linked to your blog or website.

If you are new then you can add your website by clicking on “Add Property” and then you can see your stats on the screen.

But before adding a user you have to select the property and then go with further steps. So double-check your selected property.

Then.

Step2: Click on settings.

After selecting your desired property, scroll down the page to find console settings, and then click on the setting icon to go to your GSC settings, where you may change a variety of other settings.

Here you can see the “User and Permission” option so just click on that to add a new user.

Step3: Open the Users and Permission section in your selected account.

After that, you can open the user and permission section on the setting page. After clicking you will see yourself in the list of users.

To add other users you can click the “add user” option which is at the top right corner of your screen.

Step4: Click on “Add User”.

After clicking on add user you can add the mail address of your teammate, or the user you want to access your Google Search Console.

Step5: Enter the mail address you want to give access to use your account.

By selecting a permission type, you can add the user’s email address and provide him access. You have two possibilities for providing the user permissions here.

  1. Full: If you allow the user in full permission then he can view your data and also be able to make some changes in your Google search console.
  2. Restricted: He can only see your data without accessing your account.

After making your decision you can simply click on the “Add” option and once you have successfully added a user to the Google Search Console.

Now take a look at some other google search console User permissions.

Google Search Console User Permissions & What They Do?

Owner:

In the Google Search Console, they have complete control over all properties.

  • Owner of GSC can do anything he wants with his account, he can make changes, add properties, view all the data, and he can add or remove other users.
  • There are two types of Owners in GSC: verified and delegated, however Google does not differentiate between the two on their platforms.

Let’s talk about these two. What can they do?

Verified Owner: He is the main person behind all the actions. If he adds another owner then they are called Delegated owners, and as I told you, a verified owner can do anything with his GSC account after verifying it.

Delegated Owner: The owner who has never validated the property.

  • He has the ability to add more delegated owners.

And as you are aware now that there are users who can also access google search account, so now let’s discuss types of users, and their (access/permission).

Users:

There are two types of user options in the Google Search Console.

Full: These are the users who can make changes and also view your console data.

Restricted: They only can see your data but can’t access anything in your account.
