In short, with the rise of AI, people are now utilizing these AI tools and trying to add some digital side hustles to their income stream, and YouTube is one of the best platforms to make money digitally.
The amazing thing I found is this question gets more than 100k monthly searches on both YouTube and Google. It’s clear that creators want to know how to grow their channels, increase views, and maximize income opportunities.
So, in this post, we will answer some of the most asked questions about YouTube monetization:
- What are the best ways to make money on YouTube?
- How can you drive visitors to your channel?
- How do you monetize and get paid on YouTube?
- Are there any tools that make video creation easier and affordable?
I have been in the Digital marketing field since 2018 and have been doing YouTube automation since 2020.
These questions are frequently asked on search engines and forum websites like Quora and Reddit by creators, and this sparked my idea to create a post where I can let you go through my journey with YouTube creation to help you get started and avoid some common pitfalls that I faced in my journey.
So let’s get started!
11 Proven ways to make money as a YouTuber
As we all know, YouTube is that platform where we enjoy watching videos like Vlogging, teaching, Agriculture videos, gaming videos, entertainment videos, educational etc, etc…
The videos you’re watching earn money all the time with those freaky popping ads before and after the video, and most YouTubers generate money this way.
It seems very funny that you can also become a professional YouTuber within months, but what if your video doesn’t get views to earn money from ads? To make good enough money with ads, you need a good amount of views and great engagement rates, which is the hard part of YouTube.
If you want to make money on YouTube, you’ll need to develop your skills since you’ll need to know how to create and edit videos for Better engagement(average view duration).
So, first, let’s learn how to get into the YouTube partner program and the requirements for acceptance.
#1. Apply for the YouTube Partner Program
You can make money by making videos. However, there are several conditions that your channel must meet in order to get monetized by the YouTube team.
As I previously told you, Youtube requirements and standards are different for each way(6 ways are there); for video ads, you have some different criteria, and for YouTube shorts, they have different requirements, so let’s discuss them in detail.
Here are the various monetization opportunities offered through YouTube’s Partner Program.
A. Advertising revenue: For making money with YouTube and short ads, you get revenue after YouTube’s cut.
B. Shopping: You can build your online store with YouTube, sell your products to viewers, and make money from it(have you ever seen people selling their brand’s t-shirts? It is only with the help of the YouTube shopping feature.)
C. Youtube Premium: When a premium YouTube subscriber watches your videos, you will get part of the revenue from these views.
D. Channel Memberships: You can ask your viewers to join your channel memberships, where you can offer something extra in terms of content or digital giveaways to those members and set your rates for subscriptions.
E. Super Chats & Super Stickers: When doing live streams, your fans can spend money to get animated pop-up comments in front of you.
F. Super Thanks: Your fans pay to view a fun animation and get their message highlighted in your video or Short’s comments section.
So these are the ways of making money provided by YouTube to their creators, and it’s straightforward to set up/enable these features on your channel, but you just have to get accepted into their partner program.
So, let’s go through some requirements to get accepted into the YouTube Partners program:
- You must have over 1000 subscribers on your YouTube channel.
- YPP(YouTube partner program) is available in a few countries (approx 130+), so you must watch out whether you are eligible for a program.
- Your YouTube channel must cross 4000 valid public watch hours in the last 365 days(1 year). Stats before that don’t take into account for acceptance.
You must complete these conditions to earn money through the YouTube Partner Program for video ads.
For Shorts:
You have to cross over 90M views on shorts in the last 90 days or 3 months.
For subscribers, it’s the same 1000 subscribers.
These are the conditions you have to meet if you want to get accepted into a partner program, and in my experience, it’s hard for new content creators to complete these standards.
That’s why I will give you some personal tips I followed to meet these standards.
How do you complete these Standards?
You probably know that to succeed on YouTube, the first step is to choose a niche in which you are most interested.
The reason for choosing your favorite niche is that focusing on it makes your videos more unique for your viewers than working on other niches following the same pattern.
This rule is applicable to both platforms, vlogging and Blogging.
So, my most important suggestion is to choose the niche or topic in which you are interested, have some experience/ expertise, and can create unique content for the long term.
Choose a niche in which you can make a number of videos consistently, and if you are not sure how to do niche research, then this post can help you. I tried my best to explain how to choose a niche for your YouTube channel.
NOTE: Niche research is beneficial for both Blogging and YouTube.
How to gain 1000 Subscribers fast?
To increase your subscriber base, you can follow these tips that worked for me for my Official Bloggerteck channel.
#TIP 1: If you want to grow your YouTube channel fast, I recommend creating at least ten videos ready to go before launching a YouTube channel. This can help you to upload consistently to build your video publishing cycle. If your channel is fresh/new, adding inconsistent videos will not help you gain subscribers.
Key point: Try to be consistent in the initial Phase.
#TIP 2: Try to add CTAs like “Please subscribe to the channel” or “Like the video” in your videos, but only once or twice. It can be 10 seconds after the intro and at the end of the video. Don’t try to overdo it. Following this way, you can acquire quick subscribers.
Key point: Add CTA in the scripts of your videos.
It is not embarrassing to ask your viewers to subscribe to your channel. So, don’t feel bad about requesting since, according to human psychology, people only do what they need.
#TIP 3: In your YouTube scripts, try to add storytelling and some personal touch, like a tune that makes you feel like you are conversing or chatting with your audience. Build a bond with them to increase your engagement rate or video duration.
Key Point: Try to add storytelling/personal format to scripts.
Most Important tip:
Share your video’s URL on all social media sites to get traffic. Using this approach, you can quickly reach 1000 subscribers. Social media receives millions of visitors daily, allowing you to get those views and subscribers.
If you get these points, it can be easy for you to get accepted by the YouTube team into their program.
#2. Connect to Google Adsense
If you want your channel approved by YouTube, you must first add it to Google Adsense, Google’s advertising system.
In general, you’ll get money depending on the amount of “views and time duration” on your videos.
Also depends on your channel Niche and its RPM( revenue per mille)
Here are the formulae: Revenue = Views×RPM/1000
After creating an AdSense account with the same email, link your YouTube channel to it and earn money from ads.
They will review your channel, and to get accepted, you have to follow their monetization rules by AdSense.
#3. Create & Sell Online courses
Here is why I told you to choose a niche in which you already have some expertise; it makes it easier for you to create a course related to your chosen niche.
So create a course on any platform like Skool, or use other learning platforms like Coursera, Udemy, etc, and promote your course to your YouTube views for free.
This way, you can make some extra money with your ad income.
#4. Host Paid Webinar or Workshop
This is best for content creators who are creating educational content on YouTube, and their viewers want to connect with you(content creator) to solve their doubts.
So, you can host a paid webinar/workshop targeting those viewers to solve their in-person queries about your niche.
I have some ideas if you can host a webinar for your viewers.
- Virtual Meet-and-Greets
- Affiliate Livestreams
#5. Crowdfunding for Projects
These monetization ideas are not very popular because I have seen very few YouTubers using platforms like Patreon or Kickstarter to gain financial support for specific video projects or series.
They are asking their fans for some type of financial support so that he/she can complete a particular video project. Yes, I know it’s weird to ask for this kind of support, but I have seen some, so I included this in this list.
#6. Sell your Digital Products
We can sell digital products like e-books, guides, or templates related to your content such as For video editors, you can sell editing presets or design templates.
It’s easy to promote your products through your YouTube channel. If you operate a business, you may utilize your YouTube channels to market your products, allowing you to make money by selling them.
#7. Sell products and services to viewers
You can advertise physical products to your audience using this method.
This approach particularly applies to garment store owners who wish to sell their merchandise.
They may recruit the services of any YouTuber to sell their merchandise, and the YouTuber can get a percentage from the sale. Or, if you are in any of those niches, you can ask owners for this partnership to promote their product.
Creating a YouTube channel can help you make good money if you own a physical product.
TIP: There are some affiliate program options for fashion YouTubers but please try to match your niche.
#8. Use product placement and video sponsorships
Many firms are interested in sponsoring you to sell their products through your YouTube channel if you have millions of subscribers.
If you’ve heard several YouTubers talking about any products, it’s because that company-sponsored those YouTubers to advertise their products to a specific audience.
This is another great way to boost your YouTube revenue before and after monetization. You can make money without YouTube monetization using this method.
You can grow your channel to 2000 subs, and I can assure you that with this number of subs and regular views, you can get your first sponsorship deal.
I even got my first sponsorship deal with 1500 Sub, along with a promotion on my blog, and this client has a budget of $4k for our first month.
Yaa… I was lucky to find this type of client, but you can get up to a $500 deal depending on the subs count with view count you get on average.
So, start growing your YouTube channel from the start, and don’t depend solely on ads to make money.
#9. Meet up with your channel’s subscribers in the real world
If your YouTube channel grows in size, you may host live concerts with your loved ones(subscribers), which can improve interaction and allow you to earn money from ticket sales.
When your YouTube channel grows to the point where you are recognized as a star, you get paid to perform live.
Be sure to engage with your fans and grow your following.
#10 Affiliate Marketing
Now, Let’s discuss my favorite method, Affiliate Marketing!
Affiliate marketing is the practice of earning money from multiple firms after selling their products through our promotion links, which are called affiliate links.
Yes, if you don’t have a product to promote on your YouTube channel, you can join and use your affiliate link to promote products from other firms that pay you a percentage of each sale.
Many YouTubers make money by promoting other firms’ items and earning some commissions per sale.
Clickbank and Amazon Affiliate Program are two of the most popular affiliate marketing platforms.
You can join these platforms for free and promote products related to your niche on your YouTube channels.
Always promote items connected to your YouTube channel niches; you can easily find products to promote related to your topics on various affiliate marketplaces.
Here is how I make money with ClickBank affiliate programs along with my YouTube channel.
#11. License Your Content
You can license your video and interviews with various media houses. If you are a successful YouTuber, these media houses may approach you for an interview.
This is the most underrated way, and many content creators ignore this way. Still, as a Bloggerteck member, you now know that you can license your videos, audio, etc, to various media houses and charge a fee.
Many singers, interviewers, podcasters, and other creators frequently use this method to earn revenue.
So, if you are one of them or think that others can use your content, then go and ask for video usage rights, and with this, you can make a contract for your content usage.
I hope this post is helping you till now as we have completed our list of money-making ways as a YouTuber. Now, let’s discuss some queries I thought I should answer separately in this blog post section.
How much money can you make on YouTube?
Youtube usually pays you between $0.01 and $0.03 for every ad watch. If you can generate one thousand ad views on a single video, you may earn anywhere from $12 to $50, depending on your channel niche and ad niche.
In terms of YouTube, this is also known as CPM, where YouTube pays you high rates if your niche is related to high CPM keywords.
CPM refers to the cost per mille, which means how much an advertiser is willing to pay to display ads on your videos. So, the higher the CPM, the higher your RPM.
The ads displayed on your video are pretty important; high CPM niches earn $50 per thousand views on YouTube, and these niches can help you earn $20,000 to $30,000 or more with very little traffic.
I hope you now have a better understanding of YouTube and its profits. However, we will also address some other topics to answer your queries.
How much do YouTubers make per view?
Do you want to know how much money YouTubers make each view? Here is your answer.
Youtubers may earn between $0.01 and $0.03 for every ad watch. However, there are certain exceptions. Youtube pays you based on AdSense page views, clicks, and other criteria, so there are a lot of variables to consider.
But usually, as I said, it depends on YouTube views + view duration.
How much money do YouTubers make every 1,000 views?
Youtube pays $10 to $15 per 1000 views on average. It may be low at times. However, if your channel is in a high CPM category, you can earn up to $30-50 per 1000 views.
YouTube CPM niches can help you make more money because they have high CPM rates and engagement.
How much money does a YouTuber make per subscriber?
No, you cannot make money on YouTube, depending on the number of subscribers. Because you are only paid by Google AdSense, the number of subscribers has no bearing on your earnings.
You may be able to attract other firms or brands to market their products through your YouTube channel if your material is outstanding and you have a large subscriber base. This will assist you in generating more revenue.
Yes, as I previously told you, you can make money from a subscription base if it is a huge number and with sponsorships and collaborations.
